With the Amazon fire tv stick dongle, you get an adapter to charge the device. The charging port in this device is the standard micro USB port, so you can charge the device with your regular phone chargers as well. You also get a sleek, classy looking black remote with the device. The remote is Bluetooth enable, so you don’t need to point the remote towards TV. With Bluetooth you can point the remote to any direction and still use it pretty well.

The best of the remote is the voice search functionality. You can directly search anything anything through the remote. Just say the name of the movie or show and it will search it. The voice functionality only works with Amazon prime as of now, so that is the limitation.

You also get 2 AAA batteries, which are used to power the remote and a USB cable to connect to to HDMI Port in your TV.

This product is a light weight device. It looks like a bigger pen drive. It has one HDMI output and charging port. You can easily connect this device with your TV’s HDMI port.  Once connected you can convert your TV into Smart TV. So with just Rs 3999/- you can covert your normal TV into smart TV and enjoy live streaming with internet on your TV.

It uses HDMi to connect to TV and for connecting to the internet, it connects over wifi and it supports both the wifi bands i.e 2.4 ghz and the new wifi AC band.

Once connected with your TV, you can enjoy the endless world of streaming movies from Amazon Prime. Recently, Amazon had promoted Amazon Prime membership a lot. With just Rs 499/- you can get a full year membership of Amazon prime. On Amazon prime, you not only get access to movies but also can enjoy various other shows as well.

This device runs on android, so you can download other apps as well. Apps like Hotstar, Netfix, NDTV, Voot or other apps works seamlessly on this Fire Stick.

With 8 gb internal memory, you can download movies or shows and save it for later. You can just plug in this device in any TV and enjoy the streaming of your saved videos.

Internet Speed for seamless streaming:

So, just plug in into your TV and stream everything on your big screen. The only important point to keep in the mind is the speed of internet connection. Slow internet connection won’t work well with this device. If you want to enjoy, seamless movies or videos then you need to have good internet connection. Though Amazon advice to have a minimum speed of 4 mbps, but it would be good to have at least a speed of 6- 8 mbps.

The device does not support 4K resolution right now. The maximum resolution is 1080 p and it you are watching videos on 1080p, then make sure you have a good internet speed and a lot of data with you.

What’s the difference between Chrome cast and Amazon Fire TV Stick?

Chrome cast and Chrome cast 2 does support 4K, but the device is only used for streaming. So basically, chrome cast help you stream videos or movies stored in your mobile on the TV screen. Amazon fire tv stick, not only helps to stream videos of your mobile on TV but it also can download other apps. You can directly use those apps to see videos or listen to Music, with live streaming on your TV.

Well, if you don’t have smart TV and you don’t wan’t to spend handful of bucks to buy a smart TV, then this device is definite BUY. With only Rs 3999/- you can convert your ordinary Led or LCD TV into a SMART TV. Just make sure you have an extra HDMI spare port, or will end up switching between Tv and Internet (Amazon Fire Tv Stick) frequently.

Also, make sure before buying that you have a good internet connection at your home. A minimum speed of 6 – 8 mbps is required for hassle free streaming. So, if you don’t have a smart TV and have a good internet connection, then this is the best buy for you.

    Now I’m really looking forward to which device you’re gonna hook up for that universal ambilight. The fact that I currently need a USB port to connect my Karatelight to is what keeps me from using FireTV as my primary player. Also, ambilight for my trusty old PS3 would be cool.
